On Thursday, 22 October 2026, the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) will hold a scientific conference (webinar) entitled “2nd Research Community Dialogue Day”, at which Professor Kenneth Paterson, Head of the Department of Computer Science of ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich) will deliver the keynote address.
The objectives of the conference are:
- To facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise on contemporary and emerging research approaches in the field of personal data protection.
- To strengthen cooperation with the research community in identifying and developing innovative responses to current data protection challenges.
The conference will feature four sessions:
- Privacy Protection in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Technology, Rights and Education.
- Interdisciplinary Approaches to Contemporary Personal Data Protection Challenges.
- Digital Infrastructure and Data Governance.
- Detection of Child Sexual Abuse Material and Online Grooming of Minors: Data Protection Issues.
