The Hellenic Data Protection Authority, in cooperation with the University of Piraeus Research Center and ICT Abovo PC, has undertaken, since 2020, a two-year project entitled “byDesign”, funded by the EU Programme for financing projects on the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation.
The project’s goal was dual: on the one hand, to facilitate small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with regard to GDPR compliance, by offering a tailored compliance kit; also, to promote the creation of data protection by design compliant ICT products and services, by raising awareness of the relevant stakeholders.
As part of the project, an online tool (available here: Online Toolkit) was created, to facilitate compliance of SMEs with the GDPR. Also, training material on “data protection by design and by default” was created and a series of general and special seminars was conducted.
In view of the completion of the project in October 2022, an online Conference entitled “Presentation of the project ‘byDesign’ outcomes” will be held for the purposes of making an overall assessment of the findings and results of the project and answering questions. It is scheduled on Thursday 29 September 2022, from 10:00 to 16:00 (Athens, Greece time). It will be held entirely online and the working language will be English.
